Have You Tried Pollux?

We all have an unruly iTunes library. If you can’t admit it then you’ve either never heard of iTunes or you’re simply lying to yourself. How many songs have you ripped from CD’s (remember those?) or swapped with friends. Even worse, some of us have illegally downloaded music… *gasp*. My point is that almost every music library out there could use a little TLC. Yes, Mr. Gallahan, even yours.

Enter Pollux. It’s a crazy name, I know. This little application will run through your music library, no matter how large, and fix the song names, artist names, music genre, download album artwork, etc. It’s like having a flawless library again. The free version will tag 20 songs for you to give it a try. Once you’re hooked it’s only $10 a year for the unlimited version. You really didn’t need that cheeseburger this afternoon anyway so spend the money on your music library.

I don’t know the specific details of how this little piece of magic works, but I do know that it “listens” to your music and then compares that sound byte to a ginormous database of songs. Once it finds your song it’s tagged and all the missing or incorrect information is filled in. Let this puppy run on your entire library and you’ll be amazed at how many errors your music library actually had.

Pollux also have a Facebook page so jump over there and show your support.
