Bacon Doughnuts at Dynamo Donuts

Bacon DoughnutYou’ve all heard me rave about the Nickel Diner and the delicious bacon doughnuts they serve to fat people like me. This last week I spend two days in San Francisco and had the pleasure of enjoying some bacon doughnuts at Dynamo Donuts. If anyone knows of other locations serving these scrumptious bacon creations let me know so I can make a business excuse travel and grow my waistline in the process.

While I am partial to the proximity of Nickel Diner to my front door, I will try to offer an impartial review of the doughnuts based on a variety of factors.

Venue Bacon Rush Deliciousness Environment Price Overall
Dynamo Donuts 4 of 10 6 of 10 6 of 10 8 of 10 6 of 10
Nickel Diner 7 of 10 9 of 10 4 of 10 6 of 10 6.5 of 10

Bacon Rush: A numeric value representing the rush of bacon to the taste buds.
Deliciousness: Overall delicious rating of the sweet/salty ratio for the doughnut.
Environment: The aesthetic appeal of the environment in which bacon doughnuts are consumed.
Price: The cost to doughnut value for enjoying a bacon treat.

It was a close battle, but Nickel Diner came out on top when I crunched the numbers. Still, Dynamo Donuts does a decent job. The next time you’re in San Francisco and you wake up at 6:40am craving a fried bacon treat I highly recommend you head over to The Mission and weave your way through the heroin addicts sleeping on the sidewalk to Dynamo Donuts. Of course, if you find yourself in Los Angeles we can go enjoy bacon doughnuts at the Nickel Diner together.

I’m wondering why a business minded gent like you doesn’t buy into the idea of: Walden’s House of Bacon-Doughnuts

I think a chain of these places throughout the Milwaukee, Chicago, and South-Central Wisconsin area would be a true success.

Remember, the people of the Central Mid-west loves to eat foods that add inches to their waist-line!

    • That sounds like a great idea Ron! Only problem is bankrolling the project. I’d have to actually come up with a profitable business plan… :)
