Sugar Rush at Nickel Diner
The other day I promised to do something stupid and post pictures. Well I didn’t exactly take the picture but I’ll include it anyway.
Went to the Nickel Diner with two friends for a late breakfast or early lunch. Yes, this is the place that serves delicious bacon doughnuts. Clearly we weren’t thinking so between the three of us we decided to order:
- Coffee
- Two bacon covered maple glazed doughnuts
- Homemade pop-tart
- 5 cent bag (toast with butter and jam)
- Red velvet doughnut
Like the bacon doughnuts aren’t enough, we had to add this on top of it. The red velvet doughnut isn’t pictured here because it came out about half way through our experience.
Let me tell you – you may have think you’ve experienced a sugar rush. Psssh. That’s got nothing on this. The red velvet doughnut was sliced open and a delicious thick white frosting was added into the middle. I’ve never experienced anything quite like that. The *only* thing that could have made it any better would be if the red velvet doughnut + delicious frosting was deep fried.
Thirty minutes later we were each experiencing tunnel vision and desperately ordering sugar neutral food like white toast and water to bring us back down to earth. Who needs illegal drugs when you have the Nickel Diner?
