Bacon Doughnuts at Nickel Diner
Someone actually dreamed them up and decided it was a good idea to make them. If you don’t believe in God, maybe telling you that there is a restaurant crazy enough to serve these delicious wonders of the world will change your mind.
Oh yes, that is what you think it is. It’s practically an icon now. Bacon doughnut, yessir. Dense doughnut with sweet sticky maple syrup coating, topped with savory bacon chunks. Ingenious!
Some people call them a donut, others prefer doughnut. Regardless of which side of the ocean you come from these are a specialty not to be missed. It has less than 1,000 calories so you don’t even need to feel guilty. It’s really not as bad for you as it seems. And while the idea of putting bacon on a doughnut may come across as slightly gross, it’s quite delicious when you actually try one. You’ll just need to work up the courage to order it the next time you’re in Los Angeles.
Don’t forget those 600 extra sit-ups when you get home to work off your breakfast. Personally, I just make sure that I always walk to Nickel Diner so that I can skip the crunches.
