4 Blurry Days in Munich

I arrived in Munich (Germany) on Monday evening and it’s currently Friday morning. The last 4 days have been an absolute blur. As I flip back through my camera I remember (almost) everyone that I met and the stupid nights begin to come back. Today, for the first time, I had something to drink other than beer. It was a bold move but I was beginning to feel a bit dehydrated. The issue is quite simple: beer is cheaper than anything else. Yeah, really. It’s even cheaper than water. This morning I sprung some real cash and had a water. My body said thank you.

I went on a walking tour of Munich yesterday and it was just okay. Nothing amazing. In fact, I bailed on the tour with about 30 minutes to go. I just wasn’t feeling the same excitement of the gardens that the rest of the group did.

Beer & MeThe bar at the hostel is pretty cool. Happy hour runs from 6-8 and a ,33 liter beer is only 1 euro. After happy hour a pitcher of the same beer is only 5 euro. From there we usually head out to a bier garden where the beer comes in liter sizes. Now is when it really gets fun. They walk around with pretzels and beer that would make any traditional German proud and serve it at rock bottom prices with a band playing in the center of the room. Could you really ask for any better?

Today it’s pouring buckets outside so I think it’ll probably be a good time to tackle my growing pile of laundry. The Febreze just isn’t cutting it anymore.
