Representing Milwaukee
Last night I decided it was a perfect evening to get trashed. The moon must have been just right because I found 4 Irish lads to hit the bar strip with. We started off slow with bottles before moving to schooners (not the boat) and then to pints and finally to these things they called pints but were clearly closer to jugs. If you’re confused as to what exactly a schooner is you’re not alone. In OZ they use all sorts of crazy words to describe the simplest of things. Take a look at this chart to get the full breakdown. That chart says a pint is only 20oz but I would have comfortably rest my life on the fact that we were drinking something bigger than pints last night. You would think a pint would be consistent, after all, I thought it was a unit of measurement!
I kept telling myself that as one of the few Americans in Australia and definitely the only one from Milwaukee I needed to keep pace and even stay one step ahead if my liver said it was okay. I managed to keep up nicely but as soon as I would begin to pull ahead it seemed to be time for another drinking game and they would start chugging these monster pint glasses.
Today I am most definitely feeling what I deserve but it’s okay because I did it for you folks back in Milwaukee.
