The Witch, and by Witch I Mean Bebe

Late last night we (Bebe, two Swedish chicks, a dude from somewhere in Africa and myself) we chilling in my room just chatting. We hit all kinds of topics from how to extract water from a banana tree to what a green card looks like.

I’ll back up a few minutes and tell you about Bebe. She’s not a large woman, but she’s not exactly small either. Between 1 and 10 with 1 being sub-supermodel and 10 requiring a crane to move you I’d probably put her at about a 7. She has this crazy long white hair. Almost as white as mine, but hers is natural. She wears shirts as dresses when she should really keep them in shirt form. I just feel awkward asking her to put pants on though.

So we were all sitting around chatting about all sorts of random things and she starts talking about some physic experiences she’s had. I kinda started grilling her and got the details. The stories started small with things like how after her mothers ring was stolen 10 years ago a street vendor approached her to sell jewelry and in his array was her mothers exact ring. Whatever, so I started thinking she was a certified wack job at this point. She went on to tell us about walking into homes and sometimes she sees the homes just as they were years and years ago with different color walls and the old furniture. I’m still thinking she’s crazy.

Then it got interesting. She brought up geometry and how evil all those shapes are. The part I really loved is that she mainly talked about the Pentagon building and how the workers there will be cursed for life. Did you know though that the Pentagon building with it’s five sides is an octagon? I had no idea. She didn’t believe me that a pentagon is an actual shape. Let’s give her some slack here, she never went to school. Nope, never.

She told us all about her family when they were burned at the stake in old France because they would run around the forest naked feeding people herbs. Two young boys of the family escaped and went to England to learn how to sew silk.

I learned about reading palms and that there’s four lines. She also showed everyone how to make a fist and which lines to count to see how many kids you’d have. If you bend your wrist inward you can even count how many times you’ve been reincarnated. Pretty neat stuff.

She was a real character. Totally sincere about every word. I’m sure she truly believes it. This is why everyone at some point in their life should travel to random places and stay in a hostel.

Oh, I also learned that in Africa you can eat for less than $1 a day. I’m totally going there to have a Thanksgiving size feast every night for $1.49.
